SNOWSHOEING AND SKI MOUNTAINEERING

For those who aren't keen on downhill skiing but want to spend pleasant days in touch with nature, snowshoeing might be just the thing for you. Throughout the winter, on the Pinè Highlands, you can reach various locations, even at high altitude, walking on the snow with snowshoes and poles, completely immersing yourself in the silence of nature. If you're looking for the most magical and peaceful side of the mountains, but with a hint of adrenaline, we recommend ski mountaineering. Explore mountain trails and roads, and once you reach your destination, enjoy the descent back down. You'll find several ski mountaineering routes on the Pinè Highlands, and beyond. CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

If you can't wait for the snow to fall all year long so you can glide through the silence of the pristine woods of Trentino, you've come to the right place! The Pinè Highlands offers several areas to explore on skis, especially for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. Redebus Pass area, you'll find trails through the woods, meadows, and breathtaking views of natural beauty. Coe is a must, about 40 km from Baselga di Pinè, which, with its 80 km of snow-covered slopes, is certainly one of the largest and most important centres.

ICE SKATING

The true highlight of winter on the Pinè Highlands is ice skating. You can skate at the modern Ice Rink Pinè complex, or you can wait for the lakes of Serraia, S. Colomba, and Piazze to freeze over and enjoy the fresh air of an outdoor skate surrounded by a picturesque natural landscape. At the Ice Rink Pinè complex, you can also enjoy figure skating, hockey, curling, and broomball. The Pinè ice stadium also hosts major national and international competitions. Fun fact: the Baselga di Pinè ice stadium is the federal training center for the Italian national speed skating team and will host the speed skating events for the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics.

DESIRE TO SKI

About 5 km from Casa Ester, near Lago delle Piazze, you can have fun with the whole family at the Winter Park Pradis-Ci winter recreation center, a snowy park where you can ski (ideal for beginners) and sled thanks to the snow tubing track. For more experienced skiers, a 40-minute drive through the quiet and traffic-free Valfloriana valley takes you to the ski areas that are part of the DOLOMITI SUPERSKI network—the world's largest ski area with 1,200 km of slopes. These are the closest access lifts: • Val di Fiemme – CERMIS • Val di Fiemme – OBEREGGEN Just over an hour's drive will take you directly to the TOUR OF THE 4 PASSES, starting from Buffaure or Canazei. The Sellaronda, also known as the Tour of the 4 Passes (Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, and Campolongo), is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular ski tours in the world, a must-see for ski and mountain lovers. The Marmolada, the highest peak in the Dolomites, is also connected to the Dolomiti Superski ski area.

HORSEBACK EXCURSIONS

QC TERME DOLOMITI

QC Terme Dolomiti offers an alpine experience that puts quality of life at the center. The facility spans three levels, covering a total of 4,300 square meters, in addition to pools and outdoor areas that allow for a healthy “forest bathing” experience. The facility uses the precious thermal water of Alloch, the only sulfur spring in Trentino, known since ancient times for its healing properties.
